HAPPY BIRTHDAY SCOUTING

The month of February commemorates the “birth” of scouting in the United States.  During our February Pack Meeting we will have our Blue and Gold Banquet, to celebrate this event.  This is an exciting time for us, as our Webelos II will “bridge over” to Boy Scouts on this evening.  An Indian Theme is being planned for this event.  A “pot luck” dinner will be served.  Each scout will need to provide a food item as follows.

Webelos I & II – Meats/Casseroles/Main Course

Bears – Desserts

Tigers – Vegetables/Bread and Butter

CAR WASH FUN-RAISER

I am planning a car wash fundraiser for Saturday, Feb. 15 at FUMC, from 9am – 3pm.  We can split time from 9-12 or 12-3 so this will not take up the whole day.  Bring friends, siblings, grandparents or anyone who would like to support scouting.  We need the scouts to Be In Uniform!  It represents you to the public.  I will need to know by February 7 who is planning to come so I can schedule the number of scouts for each shift

SPRING CUB-O-REE

The spring Cub-O-Ree will be held on Friday, March 28 thru Sunday, March 30.  This is a great opportunity for scouts to earn their BB Gun and Archery belt loops, along will several other achievements.  It is a wonderful family activity.  Cub-O-Ree is held at Camp Pirtle.  The registration will be mailed to your home.

THE RACE IS ON

Our Pinewood Derby will be held on Saturday, April 12.  I am hoping to have this as a day trip to Boykin Springs Park.  On Friday, April 11, all cars will need to be turned in and weighed at the Scout Hut between 6:00 – 7:30 pm.  More information on the Pinewood Derby will be available, as we get closer to the date.  Start working on those cars now.
